SPOILER ALERT!!!

Ok. It's Wednesday. You know what that means. It's time for me to discuss my most favorite reality show, The Biggest Loser: Couples.

The contestants are in week two and apparently, if you've watched the show long enough, Week 2 is dreaded. As far as the contestants losing weight, it's so unpredictable. Many of them lose so much in the first week that in week two, their numbers drop and peter out a bit. And then, this episode some lost between 6 and 14lbs! That's unheard of in week two.

And one of the contestants (who I have "fallen in love with") worked her @$$ off and yet, only lost one stinkin' pound. The good thing was that she had immunity so she wasn't going anywhere. One girl just wasn't putting forth the effort. In fact, she pissed off Bob.

Yeah. Bob.

Mr. Zen. Bob, the complete polar opposite in his training style as Jillian. He and that contestant HAD IT OUT! He was cursing like a sailor and I can't say that I blame him. I know that the workout that they're doing are grueling but all he asked of her was to jog THIRTY SECONDS without stopping. At the 20 second mark, she quit. She did this twice. He made her do it again. (this was at a speed of 6.5 on the treadmill which, granted, is very fast--- i've never attempted this in fact--- but it was only for 30 seconds) The third attempt she quit at the 25 second mark. Bob lost it!

Jillian and her team were staring in disbelief... she quietly said to her team as they were jogging on their treadmills, "I've never seen Bob get that mad. Ever!"

And the contestant's responses were very odd. I can't describe it exactly (if you haven't seen it and want to, check it out on www.nbc.com) And earlier in the show he was showing her how to do push ups using a weight bench. It's easier to put your body in a 45 degree angle and use the bench as a brace than to do them on the floor. She wasn't doing them correctly and he showed her the right way to do them. She remarked, "Yes sir! You want perfection sir, I will give you perfection." It was bizarre! I almost wonder if she had some serious authoritarian issues in her childhood or at a job that has traumatized you. I've never heard anyone on the show say, "Yes, sir" to Bob. The trainers become the contestants' friends.

Anyway, the rest of the contestants in their solo interviews mentioned that if she [the girl not performing] were to be one of the two people to fall below the yellow line, then they would vote her off without regret.

As it turned out, the two who fell below the yellow line were two contestants who reallllly needed to be there. One was a 19yr old kid who, unfortunately, was the heaviest they've had on the show. The other, a 63yr old with multiple health problems. Both of these guys were so endearing and both of them reallllllly put forth a lot of effort. Unfortunately, I think that each of their large weight loss the week before caused them to only lose 2 or 3 pounds this week, thus putting them (percentage wise) in to the bottom of the list.

The rest of the group discussed who they'd vote off and one man gave a very compelling speech (which made me choke up) to the other contestants saying that the 19yr old has his whole life ahead of him and he wants that "boy" to have the opportunity to get married, have a family, etc. He argued that the older guy had a lot of family support from his wife, his kids and even grandkids--- people that the 19yr old didn't have in his life yet.

So with very heavy hearts, the group agreed and voted off the 63yr old. I was so peeved because by the skin of her teeth the one girl who would not perform even a quarter of what Jerry (the 63yr old) did was NOT going home! She didn't deserve to stay in my opinion.

Then came my favorite part of the show... when they show the progress that the contestant has made since leaving the ranch. Jerry looked completely different! He had lost 84 pounds on his own. He put a message out saying, "I want the seniors out there to know that they can get off their couch and move. You will feel so much better if you do!"

As a result of his weight loss, he is not diabetic any longer and he's off all of his meds! He's 63! HOw totally cool is that? Proof that our bodies are the most unique and amazing things we have in this world!!!

So far, I'm rooting for Tara (the girl with immunity) and Daniel (the 19yr old). Other than what I mentioned, there hasn't been any drama (yet!) like there was with Vicky last season. Then again, we're only in week two of the show.

Until next time...peace, love & HEALTH!!!
