What would you do?

Its a matter of principle and ethics

Okay, so last night Ben and I took our friend to dinner at our favorite restaurant, Seasons 52. After our meal and we said our goodbyes (hes going to Atlanta for work), we each got into our vehicles to leave.

Stephen left his spot before we did since he was parked right next to us and his SUV is much larger than our Saturn. He backed out and exited the parking lot. We were just about to follow suit when a white Toyota Avalon came down our aisle looking to park in the vacancy from Stephens Pathfinder. The driver first decided to back into the spot but unfortunately, he ends up hitting the bumper of the car on the opposite side---- a forest green Jaguar!

Ben and I sit tight in our car and watch intently to see what unfolds. The driver backs up down the aisle past the Jaguar, changes his mind and decides to park in the spot head-on. The four senior citizens climb out of the Toyota and walk into the restaurant. There was definitely some white paint on the Jaguars bumper and there was green paint on the bumper of the Toyota.

Ben and I decided to grab our camera, take photos as well as leave a detailed note (being a Girl Scout all those years ago certainly pays off sometimes!) for the driver of the Jaguar including our names, contact information and indication that we would supply the photos to him/her should s/he need them.

Just as Ben was about to place the note under the windshield wiper, a blonde woman in her 60s approaches the car. Ben quickly explains the entire scenario to her and shows her the paint. Fortunately, upon closer inspection the paint it was determined that it could be buffed out. The woman thanked us profusely for being honest and taking the time to stop and tell her what had happened.

I felt much better, too. After all, I felt that it was my civic duty. (read: ours) :-)

What would you have done?

Until next timepeace, love & HEALTH!!!
