Ok... somebody please tell me what the deal is with mandarin oranges?

I mean, you can buy them in a can all segmented and swimming in light syrup (or juice, now) but why can't you buy an actual Mandarin Orange?

It's one of the great mysteries of life that I am pondering....

By the way, these babies are dee-lish!!! Try some. They're good in salads, noodle dishes, (especially Asian) and even by themselves.
