Take Survey (previous) (next) 2008-10-07 - 6:41 a.m. Have I ever mentioned that October is my most favorite month of all? I know. Shocking. Especially considering how much I rant and rave about the joys of living in south Florida. But seriously, in spite of the fact that it doesn't get cold here (especially not in October) and we don't have the beautiful tapestry of painted leaves, I still love this month. I become just giddy when I start to see the Halloween items at the stores and even more excited when I see fall/harvest, etc. decor. I have always been partial to rich, deep and vibrant colors like: royal purple, forest green, merlot, golds, and various shades of brown. I'm tingling with ancipation just thinking about them! I especially look forward to the pumpkin and apple cider scented candles. Oh, how they make me happppeeeee! {does a little happy dance} Over the weekend, in fact, I bought FIVE of the pumpkin scented candles from Bath & Body Works. Yum! I used to be quite cynical about how quickly stores would display holiday items. I think a lot of that cynism (sp??) came from years of hearing my parents Then, as I grew older I started to embrace the anticipation of each holiday in the last quarter of the year. I see all the orange (and black) of Halloween stuff at Super Target and I'm like a kid in a candy store. I don't even have to buy a single item, I'm just excited knowing that the holiday is around the corner. And even if they start to display Christmas stuff now... well, I just get all the more excited. As a matter of fact, this weekend there wasn't crap on my XM to listen to so I clicked on the music that is saved to the memory... out came Christmas tunes! (Ben had saved them for me last season because he knew how much I adore Christmas music.) Yes, Dear Sweet Loyal Readers, in the middle of October I was listening to Christmas music and thoroughly enjoying it. (Of course, generally as a rule I wait until November, but I just needed SOMETHING cheerful and upbeat at the moment.) Do any of you feel the same way? Do you get all excited and giddy about all the holidays from now until the end of the year? And don't even get me started about my thrill knowing Christmas is coming!!!
