My husband, Ben has hit a milestone.

Monday he celebrated his 30th birthday. The people at the local airport were in disbelief that he's that old. He doesn't mind.

Each year I always ask him what kind of cake he'd like for his birthday. This year he requested German Chocolate Cake. I had never made one before. I was unaware the complexity of making this kind of cake! The frosting/topping was easy to make but very sweet; it was almost too sweet. (Not for Ben, of course!)

He took the leftover cake to share with his co-workers. It was dusted off in 10 minutes with rave reviews. WOO-HOO for me!!!
